Bansko

Bansko is a town in southwestern Bulgaria, located at the foothills of Pirin the second highest mountain on the Balkan Peninsula, at an altitude of 926m above sea level. During the winter season of 2004 and 2005 the resort has been visited by more than 500,000 tourists. In the same period there were further more than 200,000tourists who visited Bansko for summer sports recreational activities. The mountain peaks near the city, the old pine woods, the numerous lakes and hot springs attract tourists throughout the year and shape Bansko as a resort for all seasons.
